A Time
to Care
A man
and his son
seeking
time alone
plan
a trip
far
from home
A time
to learn
A time
to share
A time
to reach out
A time
to care
Suitcases
and dreams
packed
tightly into their car
who
could have known
they
wouldn't make it that far
Dreams
shattered instantly
by a
drunken stranger
the
man and his son
never
aware of the danger
Now
the widow grieves
for
her husband and mangled son
trying
to comfort her other children
Praying
for answers from the Almighty One
Why do
we hurt each other
Who
has the right
How
can these things happen
When
will we finally stand up and fight
For
A time
to learn
A time
to Share
A time
to reach out
A time
to care
